Originally from South Korea, Myra and Sung Sohn have lived in Southern California for almost three decades and in Claremont for the past twenty years. Myra is a licensed pharmacist who spent much of her career assisting and educating customers in standard retail pharmacies. Her years experience working in this environment led her to see the potential benefits of more holistic and natural approaches to treating many of the common medical problems patients encounter.
Sung Sohn, Myra’s husband and business partner, has worked in a variety of fields during and after completing his studies in architecture, ministry, and practical theology. A long-time advocate of environmental sustainability and the benefits of holistic healing, he is trained and licensed in acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
Since 2001, Myra and Sung have operated a sustainability-focused spiritual retreat center from their home in Claremont called Myra House. In 2008, they decided to embark on a new venture that would bring together their interests in medicine, holistic health, environmental sustainability and improving the lives of their friends and neighbors.
Since its opening, Ecoterra has gone through many changes, with perhaps the largest one coming in the summer of 2017 when we moved from our original location on Indian Hill Blvd in the New Village to Yale Avenue, in the heart of the Old Village. The new location offers more convenient parking and walking access as well as larger floor space, a private consultation room, a dedicated acupuncture center, and upgraded lab facilities.
We have worked hard over the last ten years to improve Ecoterra and offer the highest standard of care, products, and knowledge to our customers. Please stop in for a visit!
